Cumbia, Vallenato Dance Party with Very Be Careful

Cumbia, Vallenato Dance Party with Very Be Careful

Enter the world of Los Angeles’s retro vallenato, Very Be Careful, built upon an unstoppable accordion driven cumbia beat. Their sound is true to the vallenato pioneers who codified the music in the ‘50s and ‘60s in Columbia. A Very Be Careful show is raw and rootsy - and is meant to make people move.

The group was founded in 1998 by accordionist Ricardo and his bass playing brother Arturo Guzman. They were soon joined by Richard Panta on caja vallenata; Craig Martín on guacharaca; and Dante Ruiz on bells. Quickly, they became a party favorite among cumbia aficionados in both their hometown of LA and in New York, where their 4th of July shows have become legendary. This will be their first Baltimore show. 5:30pm $15, $12 mbrs. DOORS: $18, $15 mbrs
