Special Exhibit featuring Sports Photography from the Legendary Neil Leifer
The Babe Ruth Birthplace Foundation is opening a special exhibit displaying iconic sports photography from legendary photographer Neil Leifer. The exhibit opens on June 7 at Sports Legends Museum and runs through October 2014. The photography exhibit will be housed in the Museum’s Thomas Winstead, Jr. Gallery and feature 54 images including many of his memorable Sports Illustrated photos, such as Muhammad Ali’s 1965 knockout punch to Sonny Liston, Team USA’s victory over the Soviet Union in the 1980 Winter Olympics, the 1973 Preakness Stakes featuring Secretariat, and Alan Ameche’s 1958 Championship game touchdown.
