Basics to Boxes - A Woodworking Day for Parents and Kids!

Basics to Boxes - A Woodworking Day for Parents and Kids!

Join a special workshop designed just for big and small hands! The Station North Tool Library and FutureMakers present a day of woodworking basics for ages 7 and up and a caregiver partner.

Build a toolbox - from scratch! Participating parent-child teams will learn how to read a plan, make a sketch, measure, mark and handsaw parts for a basic "stuff box", and a sturdy pine toolbox. Use hand drills to create essential holes; activate hammers, nails, and glue to hold things together! Each adult-child team goes home with a pair of boxes they created together, that last a lifetime.

All safety equipment, tools and materials provided, no prior experience necessary. All projects go home!
