National Orchestral Institute: Your Classical Favorites
John Morris Russell, conductor of the famed Cincinnati Pops Orchestra, opens the National Orchestral Institute with a high-energy concert of audience favorites, including Saint-Saens’s Introduction & Rondo capriccioso featuring UMD faculty artist James Stern on violin.
The National Orchestral Institute and Festival (NOI) brings together aspiring orchestral musicians from across the country for a month of dynamic music-making and professional exploration. Chosen by a rigorous, cross-country audition process, NOI artists present passionate and awe-inspiring performances of adventuresome repertoire at The Clarice and in the community.
