BALTIMORE CHAMBER JAZZ SOCIETY KICKS OFF 2014-2015 SEASON NOVEMBER 2

WITH RUFUS REID QUINTET AT THE BALTIMORE MUSEUM OF ART

BALTIMORE, MD – September 29, 2014 – The Baltimore Chamber Jazz Society kicks off its 2014-2015 season and returns to its original venue, the Baltimore Museum of Art, on Sunday, November 2, 2014, at 5 p.m., with a performance by the celebrated Rufus Reid Quintet.

Additional performers in the 2014-2015 series include The Houston Person Quartet (February 8, 2015), The Terell Stafford Quintet (March 8, 2015), The Renee Rosnes Quartet (April 12, 2015), and Dr. Lonnie Smith (May 3, 2015). All performances start at 5 p.m. on Sundays at the BMA at 10 Art Museum Drive, Baltimore, MD 21218. More information is available online at http://www.baltimorechamberjazz.org.

The Rufus Reid Quintet features award-winning educator and composer Reid on bass, along with Steve Allee on piano, Duduka Da Fonseca on drums, Freddie Hendrix on trumpet, and Gary Bartz on alto saxophone. Reid, who has been playing jazz for over 50 years, recently won critical acclaim for his album, Quiet Pride – The Elizabeth Catlett Project, which brings Catlett’s striking sculptures to life with music composed for large ensemble. Tickets for The Rufus Reid Quintet concert are $32 general admission, $30 seniors and BMA members, and $10 students. Tickets can be purchased for the entire five-concert series for $140.
