8th Annual Walkabout Abilities

8th Annual Walkabout Abilities

Don’t miss this fun, inspiring, community fundraiser that brings individuals, families and the community together to support Marylanders with disabilities. Following the 2-mile walk, participants can sample refreshments -- including ice cream sundaes donated by The Coleman Family. They also can enjoy music, arts & crafts, a sensory workshop by Ida Zelaya from Sensory Street, Inc., airbrush face painting by Amy Malfa and many more fun-filled activities and entertainment for all ages.

Event chairs are Trish Kane (director of programs with Pathfinders for Autism, a board member with Abilities Network since 2010, and a mother of a son with autism) and Keith Malfa (CNS account manager with Lundbeck – a Walkabout Abilities sponsor – who has experienced seizures – and Amy Malfa’s husband).

Registration includes event admission, a Walkabout Abilities T-shirt, refreshments and post-walk activities. All proceeds benefit Abilities Network, a non-profit organization that provides individualized services to people in Maryland with disabilities.

Its mission is to challenge the community to acknowledge the value and equality of people of all abilities.

Services include Autism Services, Community and Employment Partners, Epilepsy Services, Healthy Families of Baltimore County, Project ACT (All Children Together) and Senior Services. Abilities Network has been providing quality services since 1964.
