TERMINAL LUCIDITY

By Amy Bernstein
Directed by Melanie S. Armer
August 23 – 26

She could be your friend, your neighbor, your sister, your grandmother—and she’s struggling to cope with a monster in her midst. What’s the right thing to do? Is there a right thing? This Dada-inspired scream veers from the ridiculous to the sublime, with bursts of unsettling weirdness in between. It’s a dark and unpredictable look at how toxic politics is doing a number on all of us.

“This is not easy material, but it sure is recognizable, and those moments of recognition go off in the audience like paparazzi flashbulbs.” –Emma Goldman-Sherman, Fukt

This multi-media show riffs on the early 20th century post-apocalyptic chaos of Dadaism—an eclectic arts movement that arose in response to the horrors of World War I. Director Melanie S. Armer is an acclaimed theater director based in New York who specializes in hybrid performance, site-responsive movement, and immersive, large-scale events.
