Leo Sandoval and Greg Richardson bring their unique brand of hype tap-percussive-dance-live-music back to Baltimore! Since the sold-out premiere of Music from the Sole;at the Creative Alliance in 2015, Leo and Greg have taken the show on the road, presenting it in New York and at the Jacob's Pillow Dance Festival, among others. The piece has kept evolving and transforming, with more material and songs added, blurring the line between music and dance. Here Leo and Greg are presenting a new version of the piece featuring Leo as a solo dancer, with a full band of musicians, playing and dancing their trademark fusion of Afro-Brazilian and Latin rhythms with funk, jazz, soul, house, and more.

Mr. Sandoval, arriving next as if blown in from the wings, had a more spontaneous aura of thinking on his feet as he riffed off the bassist Greg Richardson’s Afro-Brazilian sounds, played live. This smooth solo and the rousing group piece that followed were excerpts from his new show, “Music From the Sole,” created with Mr. Richardson. When will New York get to see the whole thing?
