Doors Open 2017 Bus Tour: Architecture and Heritage from Downtown To West Baltimore

From the Peale Museum downtown (the oldest museum building in America) to the Arabber Center off of Pennsylvania Avenue in West Baltimore, there is lots of architecture and heritage to explore.

Please join Tom Liebel, architect and chair of Baltimore’s Commission for Historical and Architectural Preservation, on a bus tour stopping at six wonderful historic places: the 1814 Peale Museum, Union Baptist Church on Druid Hill Avenue, the Arabber Center off of Pennsylvania Avenue, the 1806 St. Mary's Seminary Chapel by noted early architect Maximilian Godefroy, the Le Mondo art and performance space on Howard Street, and the War Memorial building near City Hall by Lawrence Hall Fowler. At each stop, we’ll learn a little architecture and heritage and hear what’s happening there today.

We’ll meet at the Peale Museum near City Hall at 9:30 am and the bus will depart at 10:00 am. We’ll return to the War Memorial (also near City Hall) at 12:00 pm and finish the tour there at 12:30 pm. We hope you can join us!
