"Frantz"

"Frantz"

A dramatic film, directed by François Ozon, that is a largely black-and-white loose adaptation of the 1932 Ernst Lubitsch drama “Broken Lullaby,” which was in turn based on a play by French playwright Maurice Rostand. Mostly told in German, this tale is about a young Frenchman just after World War I who travels to Germany to meet the parents and fiancée of a fallen soldier whom he says he knew in Paris. (2016, 113 minutes, PG-13) Part of the FACE Tournées French Film Festival.
