Baltimore will put the spotlight on principals on Monday, May 22 at the second annual Heart of the School Awards at the Hippodrome Theater.

The evening will be dedicated to recognizing and thanking all 181 City Schools principals for their tireless work and their pivotal role in supporting our schools and children.

10 special honorees have already been selected from 84 nominees. Five will be announced as 2017 Heart of the School Award Winners for demonstrating exemplary innovation, execution, and leadership in building strong school cultures.

The evening’s proceeds will benefit the Principal Support Fund, that awards grants to principals for professional development, school programs and special events. In less than a year, the Principal Support Fund has awarded 26 grants to Baltimore City Schools principals totaling more than $100,000.

The night will be emceed by Baltimore City parent and “Indie Mom of Comedy,” Meshelle.

The evening will culminate with a Strolling Supper provided by Rouge Fine Catering.
