Scan Your Stuff Day

Scan Your Stuff Day
Friday, April 7, 12 – 4 p.m. and Saturday, April 8, 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.
Imaging Research Center, 109 ITE Building

Do you have a special object that you would like to preserve in digital form? Would you like to contribute to research into 3D scanning and modeling?

On April 7 and 8, the Imaging Research Center will hold public scanning sessions using the Photogrammetry rig on the first floor of the ITE Building. The rig uses 94 cameras to capture an object from every side and angle, all in one simultaneous shot. Bring your object — as long as it is bigger than a basketball and smaller than a carry-on suitcases — to the IRC and they will scan it while you wait. They’ll give you a copy of the scans, which you can then use to create a 3D model, suitable for use online or in 3D printing. Your scans will also form a dataset for ongoing IRC research.

No appointment is necessary! Just stop by! Questions: 410-455-3373 or [email protected].
