Students from Peabody Preparatory’s jazz ensembles will play selections inspired by the jazz heyday of Pennsylvania Avenue, a well-known center of African American music in the first half of the 20th century. Two ensembles, The Jazz Messengers and The Jazz Ambassadors, will play songs that show the early influences, acclaimed standards, and modern interpretations of jazz.

This short concert is one of many by Peabody Preparatory around the city, where students gain experience in playing outside traditional venues and engage the community with their performances.
