Join us for an intro to the Clawhammer banjo style and learn the fundamentals of this very accessible, fun, and increasingly popular style of banjo playing. No musical experience necessary; true beginners are welcome. Students gain an understanding of the basic techniques and skills needed to play Clawhammer banjo. Loaner banjos are available for the workshop and to rent afterwards.

Take your clawhammer banjo playing to the next level in this workshop with Brad Kolodner, a rising star in the Old-Time banjo world. He will help you explore the versatile nature of clawhammer banjo. This course is designed for advanced beginners/intermediate players who already have a basic understanding of how to play clawhammer banjo. Regardless of your skill level, you will walk out the workshop with a handful of new tips and tricks to implement when you play your banjo. A new tune will be taught as a vehicle to reinforce the basic technique while learning and applying a handful of more advanced techniques. Topics may include drop-thumb, alternate tunings, playing up the neck, learning by ear, playing in group settings, and more.

IBMA Banjo Player of the Year Mike Munford leads this workshop geared towards bluegrass banjoists of all levels. Mike will expand upon his unique approach to banjo by teaching a tune, fielding questions and helping you take your bluegrass banjo playing to the next level. This is a rare opportunity to learn from one of the greats, so bring your banjo, bring a tune, and a question, but most importantly, bring an open mind!
