Faith Matters: Religion and the LGBTQ Community in Fractious Times

A panel discussion moderated by Del. Mary Washington and featuring representatives of Christian, Jewish, Muslim and Buddhist faith communities. Panelists include Rabbi Elissa Sachs-Kohen of the Baltimore Hebrew Congregation, Buddhist Jann Jackson, who teaches at the Mindrolling Lotus Garden Retreat Center in Virginia, Baptist Bishop Allyson Abrams of the Empowerment Liberation Cathedral in Silver Spring, and Brown Memorial Senior Pastor Andrew Foster Conners. Among the topics that they will address is the commitment of different religions to supporting LGBTQ people, especially should hard-won rights and freedoms come under attack. This important conversation is co-hosted by The Tiffany Series at Brown Memorial and The Human Rights Campaign. Gen'l Admission $15, Students $5. Free parking and shuttle service to the church will be available.
