Seventeen Men Artist Talk: Shayne Davidson
Michigan-based artist Shayne Davidson gives an illustrated presentation and Q&A about her current Evergreen Museum & Library exhibition Seventeen Men: Portraits of Black Civil War Soldiers, honoring the lives of members of the Civil War’s 25th Infantry Regiment, United States Colored Troops. Learn about the pocket-sized photograph album created by the soldiers’ captain, William A. Prickett, that inspired Davidson’s life-sized portraits, and her genealogical research to trace the lives of these almost forgotten men and locate their descendants.
