The Opening of the Museum of Trayvon Martin: A Meeting before Labor
The Opening of the Museum of Trayvon Martin: A Meeting before Labor
Presented by Malcolm Peacock - February 11 - March 4, 2017
Opening reception and experience - February 11th 7-10pm
A Meeting before Labor explores different ways of perceiving and handling the realities of projections and inflictions of violence upon Black bodies and lives. Through the presentation of objects that have been gifted to the museum, this exhibition calls for recognition of the diverse and potentially powerful narratives of and born out of Trayvon Martin’s lasting legacy.
Please join us on Saturday, February 11, 2017. Parts I and 2 of the show will take place at Terrault (218 W. Saratoga St. 3rd Floor Baltimore, MD. 21201). The gallery will open at 7pm and will remain open until 10:00 pm. The show will continue with part 3, which will be located at 1225 N. Calvert St. All attendees will be given passes when entering Terrault. These passes must be presented for admission to Part 3. It is important that attendees walk, not drive, to 1225 N. Calvert St if they are physically capable of doing so. Specific directions and a designated route to part 3 will be distributed at Terrault. Please dress warmly. A Non-Black individual who would like to attend the show must arrive and be present with a Black person when entering Terrault.
