COLD SPRING JAZZ QUARTET
For two decades, Cold Spring Jazz Quartet has been entertaining audiences in the Baltimore-Washington area with their signature blend of classic and Latin jazz, standards, blues and sparkling original compositions. Their latest release, Warming Trend, has been met with an appropriately warm reception. In the City Paper, Geoffrey Himes praises Mark Osteen’s “eloquent” saxophone solos for “carving out harmonic extensions in sure phrases that get straight to the point.” Baltimore Jazz Alliance Newsletter reviewer Ali Brickman writes, “If you love Nutella-thick upright bass, enjoy your drums locked in, yet crisply restrained, and dig a classic sounding jazz ballad with aching minor themes, you’ll be repaid by this album. If you’re not allergic to lyrics that make you think, or to flashes of sincere emotion, this album is for you.”
Every performance is pitch perfect, informative and musically exciting. It’s current. It’s classic. It’s cool. It’s Cold Spring Jazz Quartet!
