Baltimore Chamber Jazz Society Presents The David Binney Quartet

The Baltimore Chamber Jazz Society continues its 2016-2017 season at the Baltimore Museum of Art, on Sunday, January 29, 2017, with a performance by The David Binney Quartet featuring celebrated saxophonist David Binney. The 2016-2017 season marks the Society’s 26th year of bringing jazz greats to Baltimore.

The performance starts at 5 p.m. at the BMA at 10 Art Museum Drive, Baltimore, MD 21218. Tickets are $35 general admission, $33 seniors and BMA members, and $10 students. Tickets can be purchased in advance at http://www.baltimorechamberjazz.org, or at the door. More information is also available at (410) 385-5888 or on the BCJS page on Facebook.

Winning praise from critics and colleagues alike, Binney was singled out by Jazz Times as one of a handful of “players who have created an alternative jazz scene… all of whom are playing adventurous, original music.” Binney’s distinctive saxophone sound and innovative compositions have been heard from basement clubs in New York to jazz festivals in Europe and throughout the world. In addition to his extensive work as a leader, Binney has been sought after as a sideman, appearing on record with Medeski, Martin & Wood, Uri Caine’s Mahler Project and hundreds of others.
