Ashani Dances, Baltimore's newest dance company, will premiere Love Me, Now Leave Me Alone Oct 14-16 at Baltimore Theatre Project. The show is a collection of danced vignettes that take inspiration from five Edward Hopper paintings. Artistic director Iyun Ashani Harrison (St. Andrew, Jamaica) is a choreographer, performer, and educator. He is an alumnus of The Juilliard School (BFA) and Hollins University (MFA) and danced professionally with Dance Theatre of Harlem, Ballet Hispanico of New York, Ailey II, and National Dance Theatre Company of Jamaica. Currently, Harrison is an Assistant Professor of Dance at Goucher College. Featuring DMV talent, we are excited for the integration of Ashani Dances into Baltimore’s artistic community.
