The Curtis Brothers, Zaccai (piano) and Luques (bass) play music that is deeply rooted in the Afro-Caribbean tradition, while also drawing on the richness of American jazz. Their music is alive with the blues and rhythm swing of their Africa-Caribbean-New Orleans heritage, mixed into a spicy, hard-bop melting pot of fiery rhythms. Reinaldo de Jesus on congas and Richie Barshay on drums complete the ensemble. The concert is preceded by a lecture on Latin American music at 7:00 pm. Call the venue for tickets.
