Recital and Evensong, with Claire Weber, Mezzo-Soprano

The 2016-2017 Music at St. David’s series opens with a festival Evensong and pre-service recital beginning at 4:30 pm on Sunday, September 18, featuring music and poetry composed in Baltimore. The pre-service recital includes mezzo-soprano Claire Galloway Weber performing God as she makes this earth, a collaboration of Baltimore artists Frances Pollock, composer, and Vanessa Moody, poet, offering a unique take on myths of creation and the creative process. The Service of Evensong, beginning at 5:00 pm, will include music written by 2016-2017 Composer-in-Residence Michael Rickelton and a Baltimore premiere of a choral work by Icelandic composer Anna Thorvaldsdottir. This evening of music is free and open to the public; a suggested donation of $15 ($10 students/retirees) benefits the musicians and the music series.
