An 18-piece group consisting of Baltimore jazz musicians, improvisers, and composers. The Ensemble brings to life the compositions of trumpeter Dylan Schuman. Some compositions are arrangements of Schuman’s quartet Paint and Yell, while others are new and range from in-your-face intensity to spacious floating melodies. With influences such as The John Hollenbeck Large Ensemble, Michael Formanek’s Ensemble Colossus, and
Kenny Wheeler, the group is constantly switching gears, styles, and energy.
