Explore the form, history and meaning behind rings that are also vessels: Victorian mourning rings, Jewish wedding rings, poison rings, reliquaries, and rings with secret compartments. Students will explore both historical and contemporary examples and learn techniques used to create these rings including hollow construction, bezel setting, hinges and mechanisms, and small forming. Over the course of the class students will create their own series of rings with secrets. Prerequisite: Perfecting Basic Skills or equivalent
