Cochlea Duo

The Cochlea Duo, Chelsea Czuchra, flutes and Lindsay Buffington, harp, are proud to present their 2016 summer concert program at An Die Musik in one of their first concerts in the USA. The two American-born, currently Switzerland-based musicians are committed to exploring and expanding the repertoire for flute and harp, pairing new pieces by living composers with the classic works of the genre. Founded in 2013, Cochlea performs regularly throughout Switzerland, with recent appearances at the soundSCAPE Festival in Maccagno, Italy.

This special chamber music concert will features an eclectic mix of jazzy, contemporary and impressionistic works by composers from around the world including Gareth Farr (New Zealand), Alex Shapiro (USA), Ricardo Zohn-Muldoon (Mexico/USA) and Toru Takemitsu (Japan). In addition, the duo is proud to present two brand new works written for them by the Swiss composer Michèle Rusconi and the American composer Jesse Jones.

The Cochlea Duo will tour the east and west coasts of the USA in summer 2016, culminating in a performance at the National Flute Association Convention in San Diego, California in August 2016.
