Tyrone Allen began his musical journey on recorder while he was very young. From there he moved on to guitar, then electric bass with his church in junior high, and would never look back after beginning to play upright bass for his high school jazz ensemble. Tyrone continues to play for his church and regularly gigs at music venues in DC and Baltimore, being close to his hometown; Temple Hills, Maryland. Some of the places he has played include Columbia Station, Twins Jazz Club, An Die Musik, Bohemia Caverns, and the Kennedy Center. Tyrone has also played in various groups at both the DC Jazz Festival, and the Rochester International Jazz Festival. He is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Music degree in classical bass as well as jazz bass, under the instruction of James VanDemark and Jeff Campbell respectively.
