MONOBLOCO, Rio De Janiero’s mighty street parade band, will make an ultra-rare US appearance and light the dance floor on fire with their “select” touring group of 16.

Grammy nominated percussion collective MONOBLOCO was created in 2000 by C.A. Ferrari, Celso Alvim, Mário Moura, Pedro Luís and Sidon Silva (members of the band Pedro Luís e A Parede). The group currently performs in an annual parade that closes the carnival festivities and is followed through the streets of Rio de Janeiro by half a million people. Their street parade group is MASSIVE, but for the stage, they pair down to a nimble 16, creating a wall of danceable sound that combines elements of samba, funk & hip-hop.
