JAZZIN’ AROUND BAROQUE stems from the love that vocalist Paola Quagliata has for Baroque music (17th - 18th centuries) and Jazz.

During her classical studies and her carrier as a soprano Paola has always nurtured much curiosity for jazz that has eventually developed into a deep passion, finding out that despite having developed in far distant times, Baroque and Jazz are much more similar than we all can imagine!

Her idea to fuse these two beloved languages and present her project to three extraordinary and renowned jazz musicians settled in NYC has been an almost natural consequence: Bruce Barth, Joseph Lepore and Rudy Royston joined Paola Quagliata enthusiastically, bringing to the italian style of this mesmerizing classical music their sensitiveness of seasoned improvisers.

In JAZZIN' AROUND BAROQUE the vocal line dialogues with the instrumental strong jazz feel of the arrangement giving to the project a special flavor of finesse and at the same time appealing to any music lover.
