Garden Games Workshop Series: Build A Hula Hoop

Garden Games Workshop Series: Build A Hula Hoop

Clear skies, sunny days, warm temps—it’s time to get outside. Get ready for summer with the Maryland Science Center’s Garden Games Workshop Series. This June, we’ll focus on constructing two well-loved outdoor activities. Each workshop will be hands-on and include instruction, supplies, and a related project. Participants will leave with a new skill set and a completed piece.

Come twist and shout with us in The Shed and make your own hula hoop! The modern hula hoop was invented in 1958, but both the young and the young at heart have been twirling them throughout history. Learn the anatomy of a circle, work with plastic tubing, and make this favorite pastime your very own with decorative tape.

All supplies and museum admission are included. Cost is $15 per person. There is no member discount for our workshop programs. The workshop is designed for ages 10 and up, anyone under 16 must participate with an adult. Advance registration and payment required.
